BRASILIA: Brazil’s specials port department SEP has authorized 10 consulting firms to conduct technical, economic and environmental feasibility studies to prepare six upcoming port terminal concession tenders.
The studies will cover proposed concessions for two areas at Santos port (São Paulo), another two at Suape port (Pernambuco), one at São Francisco do Sul port (Santa Catarina), and another area at Rio de Janeiro port.
According to an SEP release, companies have 60 days from the approval announced this past Thursday to submit the studies.
Following an evaluation by a commission to be appointed by ports minister Edinho Araújo, the selected studies will be used to prepare tenders expected in 1H16.
The areas are part of the second block of port concessions planned under the country’s logistics investment program PIL.
THE COMPANIES
Among the companies preparing studies for more than one terminal are Eagle Serviços Diferenciados, DTA Engenharia, Linktech Inter Gestão, R. Peotta Engenharia, and Consórcio V.E.G.
Those focused on one terminal are Planave, Tegma Gestão e Logística, Merco Shipping Marítima, Raízen Combustíveis (Raízen), and Freight Consultoria.
