BRASÍLIA: Brazil’s ferrous scrap exports totaled 15,181 mt in July, a decrease of 66% from 44,207 mt shipped in the year-ago month and 63% lower than the 41,361 mt exported in June, the Ministry of Development and Foreign Trade said Tuesday.
Most of the exports — 12,822 mt — went to Asia at an average FOB price of $242/mt, the same price of the year ago, but up 10% from $217/mt FOB in June. Ferrous scrap exports through the port of Santos in Sao Paulo state in June totaled 4,301 mt, followed by Manaus port at 4,296 mt.
