BRASILIA: Brazil’s primary aluminium exports fell in October, reflecting the lack of shipments to Europe, the country’s foreign trade ministry, MDIC, said.
A total of 17,252 tonnes of unwrought metal was exported last month, down by 24.9% from October 2014 and by 45.6% from September 2015. According to the ministry, the metal was shipped from Barcarena’s Vila do Conde port, where Albras operates. The company is 51% owned by Norway-based Norsk Hydro and 49% by the Japanese consortium Nippon Amazon Aluminium Corp (NAAC).
