BT Ireland full-year revenue rises 7% to €860 million

DUBLIN: BT Ireland posted 7 per cent underlying revenue growth in the year to March to £681 million (€860 million).

Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation for the all-island business rose by 8 per cent, the company said, without giving the actual figure.

The sales growth was driven by investments in BT Ireland’s network reach, data centres and product development, according to Colm O’Neill, managing director of BT Major Business & Public Sector UK and Ireland.

The company’s wholesale division continued to report solid results, securing new deals with Three Ireland, Sky Ireland, and Blacknight Internet Solutions which has signed a long-term agreement with BT for the provision of data centre, network and infrastructure services.

The broader BT group, which is the UK’s biggest broadband provider, posted a 6 per cent increase in revenues for the full year, to £18.9 billion, including the impact of its acquisiton of mobile operator EE.
