Budget 2015-16: Bosan submits proposal to uplift agri sector

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research Sikandar Hayat Bosan Called on the Federal Minister for Finance, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Friday.

Bosan along with the Secretary NFS&R Seerat Asghar presented proposals to the Finance Minister to be incorporated into in the upcoming budget to help agriculture in the country and ensure Food Security in true sense for the country. He also thanked the Finance Minister for taking measures in the ongoing financial year for the support of the farmers in the country.

The Finance minister said “though agriculture has been a devolved subject after the 18th Amendment, the federal government is ready to extend every possible co-operation to the provincial governments and the Ministry of Food Security for the uplift of the sector.”

Bosan presented suggestions related to farm mechanization, development of Dairy and poultry industry in Pakistan and suggestions regarding reducing the cost of production for the farmers. He also requested the Finance Minister to help create a liaison between all provincial Agriculture Ministers for the development of the agricultural sector.
