ATHENS: Bulgarian Ministry of finance, working hard on Greece’s decision for introducing a preventive tax of 26% for a deal between Greece and Bulgarian companies, Capital Daily writes.
Bulgarian Finance Minister Vladislav Goranov has already sent a letter to the European Commission (EC), notifying it that such a tax would be in breach with the EU right for free movement of capital.
Sega daily points out that the minister’s letter was not actually an official stance of Bulgaria as it was announced earlier. Mr Goranov said he hoped for a diplomatic solution between the two Member States without the EC’s involvement; Ms Kuneva also explained that Bulgaria is in the same situation as Cyprus, which has already started negotiations directly with Greece.
