SOFIA: More than 20 kilos of drugs have been seized overnight by the customs officers at Danube Bridge 2 Vidin-Calafat, the press office of the Bulgarian National Customs Agency announced.
A mobile customs team selected a mini-van with Polish registration for an inspection. The vehicle was travelling from Bulgaria to Poland. There were two Polish nationals in the vehicle, whose nervous behaviour made the customs officers suspicious.
With the assistance of officers with the Interior Ministry the mini-van was escorted to the customs warehouse where it underwent a thorough inspection during which the customs officers found a hidden compartment in the floor of the vehicle. Authorities found 40 packages, at the total weight of 20.26 kilos, full of powder substance, which turned to be heroin.
The two Polish citizens were arrested. Work on the case continues.
