Bulls keep KSE afloat as 100-index gains 172 points

KARACHI: The Karachi Stock Exchange benchmark 100-index Thursday maintained the positive trading note as 100-index up by 0.51 per cent, gaining 171.77 points till midday.

The country’s biggest stock reached 33662.42 level after witnessing the highest trading of 33712.45 points and lowest trading of 33490.65 points. The total volume remained 97,127,780 shares, having value of Rs6,420,567,905.

Earlier, the Karachi Stock Exchange added another 112.76 points in early trading and reached 33603.41 level with total volume of 29,825,970 shares.

The top three traded companies were KASB Bank Ltd with a volume of 18,163,500 and price per share of 2.80 (0.12), B.O.Punjab with a volume 14,885,000 of price per share of 9.58 (0.22), K-Electric Ltd with a volume 11,337,500 of price per share of 7.86 (0.10).

On Wednesday, the KSE 100-index rose by 454.88 points, or 1.38 per cent, to 33,490.65 as profit-taking on certain sectors had pulled the stocks down to attractive levels for the institutional players.
