Burki inaugurates WeBOC training course for importers, exporters

LAHORE: Chief Collector of Customs Rozi Khan Burki and Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) President Ijaz A Mumtaz inaugurated training course on Weboc for importers and exporters here on Saturday.

As many as 16 importers and exporters participated in the first training session which was held at the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The Customs officers including Additional Director Customs Investigation and Intelligence Rizwan Slabat, Customs DOT ADD Mona Aslam, Deputy Director Moneeza Majeed Training Resource person Inam, imparted the participants and helped them out on various Weboc related hazards which importers and exporters usually face in the course of their business.

The training was held basically to train the businessmen on Weboc system in order to make them self-sufficient in successfully managing their import and export related issues reducing dependency on agents and to ensure transparency in import and exports clearance.

“The training will enable the importers and exporters to know about the exact position of their goods and articles during the course of customs clearance” DOT Deputy Director of Customs Moneeza Majeed told Customs Today.

Fasial Sohail, a participant said that the training session has provided us an opportunity to understand the new automation system and such capacity building session on the part of LCCI and Customs would surely serve the business community.

The participants who took part in the training included Wasim Raja, Imran ul Haq, Muhammad Farhan, Bilal Ahmad, Faisal Iqbal, Kamran Rasheed, Tanveer Mehran, Adnan Akhtar, Muhammad Aslam, Muhammad Ajmal, Ijaz Hussain, Fahad Suhail and others.

At the end of the training session Additional Director Customs Intelligence & Investigation Rizwan Slabat and Deputy Director Moneeza Majeed distributed certificates for the completion of successful training course.
