LAHORE: Central Region Chief Collector of Customs Rozi Khan Burki has said that his promotion in BS-22 was the result of Allah Almighty’s blessings and prayers of his parents and friends and not due to any of his special effort on his part.
“I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all my mentors, friends, colleagues, relatives, batch-mates and well-wishers who have congratulated me on my elevation. I am overwhelmed by the love and affection shown by all of them, May Allah bless them all,” he shared.
He said that he cannot forget his fellow tribesmen’s pain and regretted that he could not do anything for them.
“I cannot forget my fellow tribesmen back in South Waziristan especially Burkis and Mahsuds, and Wazirs and Dawars in North Waziristan who are suffering from the worst kind of misery being displaced from the places of their abode once considered the most peaceful areas of the country.
He said, “I feel guilt-ridden that I could do nothing when their pride and self-respect has gone down, their children’s education has suffered the most and they are living a life as IDP’s for the last six long years in the case of South Waziristan”.
“Still I receive messages of congratulation and well-wishes from them. I am also humbled by the feelings that I reached here solely due to the blessings of Allah Almighty and prayers of my parents and friends and not due to any special effort on my part,” he added. May Allah enable me serve this great country of ours to the best of my abilities Ameen! Khan prayed.
