Business community supports Tax Amnesty Scheme: Shabbar Zaidi

KARACHI: Chairman Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Shabbar Zaidi has said that all the business community has declared Tax Amnesty Scheme as beneficial for the economy of the country.

According to the details, under the supervision of Governor Sindh Imran Ismail a high level meeting was held in Governor House over the current economic indicators, dollar price hike, Tax Amnesty Scheme as well as financial package from the International Monetary Fund (IMF). Adviser to the Prime Minister on finance, revenue and economic affairs, Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh and Chairman Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Shabbar Zaidi were also present in the meeting.

Taking part in the meeting the Chairman Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Shabbar Zaidi has said that the business community has declared Amnesty Scheme as beneficial for the economy of the country whereas they have shown their complete support in this regard. He said soon the economy will be on its track and problems of the business community will be addressed.

During the meeting, the Governor Sindh Imran Ismail said that the problems of the businessmen must be solved at their door steps so that trust between government and businessmen could be enhanced. Imran Ismail said that the formation of the Sindh Industrial Lesion Committee is also working round the clock to address the problems of the business community.

Adviser to the Prime Minister on Finance, Revenue and Economic affairs, Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh informed that for the economic stability, small, medium and long term programs are being introduced for the business community.
