MUSCAT: The Court of First Instance recently issued two judicial verdicts against two violators of the Consumer Protection Law, who were convicted and fined OMR2,200 ($5,714).
“The Consumer Protection Department in Ibra was able to arrest a suspect for trading and selling expired items. The court ruled that the defendant was convicted of trading an expired commodity and was fined OMR2,000,” the Public Authority for Consumer Protection (PACP) said. The authority did not specify what the items were.
In the second case, the administration received a complaint from a consumer against car agencies in North Al Sharqiyah governorate, in which he found technical issues with his vehicle even after performing regular maintenance in the company workshop.
