Businessmen eagerly waiting for completion of Pak-China Economic Corridor: FPCCI

KARACHI: The business community is eagerly waiting for completion of Pak-China Economic Corridor which would bring economic revolution in Pakistan and China. This was stated by Muhammad Waseem Vohra, vice president of the FPCCI in a meeting with 16 member delegation of Xinjiang province of China. The meeting was also attended by Muhammad Ikram Rajput, vice president and Incharge Sindh Region of FPCCI, Jawaid Khalili, chairman, Pakistan China Business Council, Mazhar Nasir and large number of the members of Pakistan China Business Council of the FPCCI.

Muhammad Waseem Vohra said that Pak-China friendship is time tested, truly good, deeper than ocean and higher than mountains. However, the traditional friendship of Pakistan and China has been now moulded into a comprehensive strategic partnership in trade, investment and economic development, he added. The vice president FPCCI further said that Pak-China Economic corridor will be a milestone which reflects strengthened trade and investment ties between both the countries. He said that the business community is eagerly waiting for completion of this project. The huge Chinese investment in Pakistan particularly in energy sector and infrastructure will bring an economic revolution in the region.

The head of Chinese delegation HE Yiming, director-general of the Department of Commerce of Xinjiang province of China said that Pakistan is our second home. He said that many Pakistani are doing businessmen in Xinjiang province of China. He further said that Chinese investors are keen to invest more in Pakistan in difference sectors including agriculture, petro-chemical. He further stated that Pakistan China Economic Corridor is an important part of China Silk Road which will open new avenues of enhancing trade and commerce activities. However, there is a need to develop mechanism enhancing economic cooperation between both the countries, he added. He emphasized on frequent exchange of delegations between Pakistan and Xinjiang.
