Businessmen playing vital role in strengthening national economy: Javed Iqbal

ISLAMABAD: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Justice ® Javed Iqbal has said that business community’s role is very important in strengthening national economy and NAB is using all available resources to bring looted money back which is already stashed abroad.

He expressed these views while talking to a delegation of business community. NAB chairman said that every institution have to play its due role to root out corruption from our society and country. Business community is playing vital role in this regard.

He said that NAB recovered Rs303 billion from corrupt people and deposited it in national kitty which is a clear sign of commitment against corruption. He said that corrupt people looted national exchequer and purchased lavish plazas and hotels abroad, from which source they got this money?

He said NAB never hurt anybody reputation and credibility during investigation process. NAB summoned people keeping in view of their dignity and honour. Justice ® Javed Iqbal said that as a judge he always tried to deliver justice to the needy people and with the same spirit performing my duties nowadays.

He said that after assuming the charge of chairman NAB he personally hear common people complaints on last Thursday of every month. NAB chairman said that genuine businessmen are playing due role and on the other hand they provided jobs to thousands of people which is quite optimistic sign for NAB.

Justice ® Javed Iqbal said that NAB is taking actions against owners of the fake housing societies because they looted the hard earned money of poor people. NAB distributed around Rs1 billion among these poor people. He said NAB established a complaint desk to address on the spot complaints of traders. NAB chairman said that currently our country bears debt of $95 billion which were spent on our progress and development now it is duty of NAB to recover this money from corrupt mafia.

Delegation of businessmen assured NAB chairman that business community is always behind him to achieve objective of NAB. They lauded the role of NAB chairman to root out corruption from our society.
