ISLAMABAD: With the aim to create awareness about the issue of bird strike on the aircraft, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has launched a campaign on ‘Bird Aircraft Strike Hazard’ at major airports.
The campaingn was launched at Benazir Bhutto International Airport, Islamabad, Allama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore, and Jinnah International Airport, Karachi.
CAA Joint Director (Media) Fariha Tahir Shah said that aircraft inspectors have started patrolling around airport jurisdictions to avoid birds. The inspectors would use firecrackers to keep birds away from airport jurisdictions, she said. She has appealed to public, hotel owners and marriage halls not to throw leftover food around airport areas to avoid birds.
