ISLAMABAD: Cabinet Division Secretary Raja Hassan Abbas has assured the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of compiling details of stay orders that have hindered the Capital Development Authority (CDA)’s recovery from defaulters.
He said that he would compile the details of the court cases in which defaulters had obtained stay orders. A subcommittee of the PAC was scrutinising the 2003-04 audit report of the CDA.
The committee also examined an audit para related to the issuance of a licence to a company for installation of 15 public call offices. The audit officials said the authority levied less fee on the company due to which the public exchequer suffered Rs1.4 million loss.
CDA Chairman Maroof Afzal said they tried to recover the amount from the company but the latter obtained a stay order.
