CALIFORNIA: The California state economy on rise as it has issued over 1,160 licenses to small business .The State of California considers the business small when a business has fewer than 100 employees with gross receipts of less than $14,000 a manufacturer with 100 or fewer employees a micro business whose gross annual receipts are less than $3,500,000 or a business with 25 or fewer employees.
California’s economy is continuing to grow, and thanks to a surge in small business development, Fontana has been contributing to that growth, according to state and local reports. In 2013, there were 1,976 applications for business licenses in Fontana, and in 2014, that number increased to 2,130, according to Elisa Grey, economic development manager for the City of Fontana.
So far this year we have had 1,160. Most of these licenses are for businesses that would be considered a small business by the State of California, said Grey. I can tell you that there has been a considerable uptick in the amount of inquiries that Economic Development has received as it relates to businesses development, both small and large businesses wanting to relocate or expand within the city.
