CALRGEY: The Canada Border Services Agency has announced that they have seized a large quantity of prohibited animal and food products from a traveller entering Canada at Calgary International Airport.
The amount of prohibited products including,20 dead baby birds,100 chestnuts,Six bags of homemade cracked wheat and yogurt and Two jars of homemade dairy cream,100 seeds,15 stone fruit
CBSA officials, along with detector dog Rusty, stopped a traveller from Lebanon who had declared they were not bringing any food, plant, or animal products.
Officials say that these items are illegal in Canada because they possess a very high probability of carrying harmful diseases that could damage the country’s agricultural industry.
There is no further information on any other penalities against the traveller at the centre of the seizure.
The CBSA remind travellers to declare all items they are bringing into the country.
