WARSAW: Canadian mining company Copper is planning to construct a copper mine nearby Nowa Sól (Lubuskie voivodeship). The entire investment is to be worth up to PLN 15 billion, the firm’s CEO told PAP.
“The investment program we have been implementing includes the construction of a copper mine near Nowa Sól. This is a very ambitious plan, which will have a positive impact on the Polish economy and will create thousands of jobs,” Lyle Braaten said.
Copper’s capex (capital expenditures) is to reach PLN 15 billion over a ten-year period, he added. According to Braaten, some 8,000 people may be employed in the mine, plus a few thousand in supporting infrastructure.
