OTTAWA: Following the FMA Annual General Meeting, Neil McKenna, Vice-President, Transportation at Canadian Tire Corporation was elected as Chair of the Freight Management Association of Canada (FMA). Neil is a Certified Management Accountant and has been with Canadian Tire since 1994. He was appointed Vice-President, Transportation in 2008.
“I’m pleased to take on the role of Chairman of FMA at this time when shippers face both challenges and opportunities in all modes of transportation in a fast-moving global economy” said McKenna.
“We look forward to working with the Honourable Marc Garneau, the newly appointed Minister of Transport, and with the Canadian Government to promote an efficient freight transportation system in support of the Canadian economy.”
Doug Hackett, Vice-President, Squamish Terminals, was elected as Vice-Chair and the following Directors were also elected at the AGM: W.J. Burns, Heather Pollock, Yara Corp., Woody Galloway, Bunge Canada, Joel Guay, Evraz Inc., Tom Waskiewicz, Ingredion Canada, and Kimberly Wildenmann, Lantic Inc.
“I look forward to working with the Board of Directors for 2015-2016. This experienced group of people, representing a broad cross-section of Canadian industry, will be key to the Association’s continued growth and to providing effective shipper input to policymakers” said Bob Ballantyne, FMA President.
