Cannabis and cocaine worth €300,000 seized in Kilkenny

KILKENNY: A man has been arrested after gardaí seized cannabis and cocaine worth an estimated €300,000 in Kilkenny.

The drugs were found when a house in the New Park area of Kilkenny was searched on Thursday evening.

Herbal cannabis worth up to €100,000 was discovered by officers and cocaine valued at some €200,000 was also seized.

A man in his 50s was arrested at the scene and is being held at Kilkenny Garda station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.

A Garda spokesman said the drug seizure and arrest were part of a ongoing operation targeting the sale and supply of drugs in counties Carlow and Kilkenny.
