Cantonment area traders demand cut in property tax

PESHAWAR: The trading community of Peshawar Cantonment has demand cut in property tax and arrangement of alternative route during the construction of Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Project to save their businesses from closure.

The demand was made during a meeting of the Traders Alliance, Peshawar Cantonment with Deputy Commissioner (DC) Peshawar.

The delegation comprising BRT Patron-in-Chief Azizullah Saraf, Shahid Ghafoor, Hasnian Shiraz, Ghulam Bilal, Ghulam Hussain Babar and others was led by PTI MPA Arif Yousaf.

The Deputy Commissioner heard the problems of the traders and assured them complete cooperation in their resolution.

The delegation highlighted that lack of car-parking was biggest problem in the Cantonment and called for making arrangements in this regard.

They also demanded stern action against encroachment mafia. The traders also demanded daily based checking of the edibles including milk and other items.
