RAWALPINDI: The Cantonment Board Rawalpindi (CBR) has planned to build a food street on Bank road in Sadar.
According to reports, the Bank road will be closed for vehicular traffic from Unique Bakers chowk to Gakhar Plaza chowk to establish the food street and only pedestrians will be allowed to enter this area. Stalls will be allotted to the persons skilled in preparing and serving the citizens traditional cuisines of all the four provinces on both sides of Bank road on the pattern of double road Lahore, Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
Work in respect of sitting area project on Bank road in front of National Bank is underway. Bank road food street will be diverted from Gakhar chowk plaza to Tehzib Bakers hospital road. The food centres which are already operating in front of Seroze cinema will be made part of this food street.
