Car cell collects Rs.108.948m during first half of FY16-17

ISLAMABAD: Model Customs Collectorate Car Cell collected Rs.108.948 million and impounded 79 non-duty paid (NDP) vehicles during July to December of financial year 2016-17.

MCC Car Cell Deputy Collector Shahid Jan said the performance of car cell of preventive department is satisfactory during first six months of Financial Year 2016-17. He said that during first 06 months of FY16-17 the car cell seized 79 NDP vehicles worth Rs.108.948 million and added that quantity of confiscated vehicles showed that the car cell and ASO are performing well.

He said that during month of December FY 2016-17 the car cell Islamabad impounded 15 NDP vehicles worth Rs.10.98 million. The seized vehicles comprise Toyota Corollas, Mercedes Benz, Crown and Mehran.

Shahid Jan said that during month of November FY16-17 the car cell impounded NDP vehicles in number of 13 valued Rs.26.03 million. He further said the Collector MCC and Chief Collector North showed pleasure on performance of the car cell during month of November FY16-17. He added that the MCC Islamabad is following the instruction given by the federal board of revenue (FBR). He praised the efficiency of the department and said the car cell has fulfilled the target the 2nd quarter (October-December) FY2016-17.

He said the car cell confiscated different types of NDP vehicles during 06 months i.e. Toyota Corolla, Vitz half-cut cars, Suzuki Pickups half-cut, Mercedes cars, Toyota Hiace vans, Toyota Surf and Toyota Parados. He said the car cell is working very efficiently under the supervision of Collector Dr. Arslan who was given an appreciation call on showing good performance after completion of first 06 month.
