HAVANA: The American cruise company Carnival, which since last July obtained permission from the US authorities of the Departments of Treasury and Commerce to begin operating boats in Cuba, has announced its intention to include the cities of Santiago de Cuba and Cienfuegos, plus Havana in their cruise trips to the greater Antilles.
Carnival’s route to Cuba will be covered by Fathom Company, created precisely for Carnival travel to operate with ‘social impact’, educational and cultural purposes and includes destinations such as Dominican Republic.
Stays in Cuba would have a week-long, boats will depart from Miami and should begin operating in May 2016. However, the Cuban government still has not ruled on the matter or has granted the required permissions for the company to start its trips to Cuba.
