Carpet manufacturers to meet Commerce minister to discuss upcoming carpet exhibition

International Handmade Carpet Exhibition on October 6

LAHORE: Pakistan Carpet Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PCMEA) would meet Federal Commerce Minister Engineer Khurram Dastgir on May 4 to discuss the matters pertaining to three-day long 33rd Pakistan International Handmade Carpet Exhibition.

PCMEA in collaboration with Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) will organise Carpet Exhibition here on October 6, 2015.

PCMEA Central Chairman Usman Ghani said that he himself, Senior Vice Chairman Qamar Zia, former chairmen Major (R) Akhtar Nazir Cooki and Sheikh Khalid Saeed, the CTI Chairman Saeed Khan and others would be part of the delegation.

Usman Ghani said, “We want to hold the exhibition in a way that it can provide an excellent opportunity of connecting the areas of interest.” The Exhibition, he added, would focus more to ensure participation of local people, new investors and students to create awareness about the working and achievements of carpet industry.

Meanwhile, Qamar Zia said the Carpet Show 2015 would become the largest showcase of Pakistan’s handmade carpets.

He viewed that carpet exhibition could help put the economy on track.
