ISLAMABAD: According to the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority, unverified SIMs would be blocked from tomorrow. Today is the last day for biometric verification of SIMs.
According to reports so far, 7.7 million SIMs have been blocked as they were not revivified through the biometric process. Meanwhile, the PTA has also laid down procedure for verification of SIMs of overseas Pakistanis. For the SIMs present in Pakistan but their owners residing abroad, subscribers have been advised to transfer them in the names of their family members. In case a SIM is neither in Pakistan nor on international roaming, it will be blocked if not verified by today.
