OTTAWA: The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) today announced the removal from Canada of Ferenc Domotor, the kingpin of a human trafficking criminal organization that had operated in the Hamilton area. Domotor led the extended Domotor-Kolompar criminal ring and was convicted of human trafficking under the Criminal Code of Canada.
The CBSA removed Ferenc Domotor to Hungary on April 10, 2015.
Victims of the Domotor-Kolompar criminal ring were recruited and/or transported from their native Hungary with promises of a better life and work in the Hamilton area. They were forced to work illegally, live in deplorable conditions without adequate food and were intimidated or attacked repeatedly.
To date, 22 members of this criminal organization have been convicted of crimes relating to human trafficking and the CBSA has removed 21 of these individuals from Canada.
