CD Projekt Red keeps true to promise of free DLC for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

TOKYO: CD Projekt Red announced that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt game would have no retailer-exclusive pre-order DLC and players would be treated to 16 free pieces of downloadable content.

CD Projekt Red is keeping true to the promise of free DLC. As of this writing, four free DLCs have been released for the game, including an alternative outfit for Yennefer, a new contract quest, a Temerian Armor set, and access to the barbershop. This week, two more free pieces of DLC will be available across all platforms.

Players were introduced to the new, free DLCs on the game’s official Facebook page. A preview of the Nilfaardian armor set and the elite crossbow set are accessible on the site. These new items are expected to release soon, and, of course, they are completely free.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is also expected to patch soon with a fix to an experience glitch among other changes. As the Inquisitr reported, players have been reporting issues with some quests not granting experience even though they are not of grey difficulty. Although serious, the issue was not altogether game-breaking. There are more than enough missions that properly grant experience for the protagonist to reach the levels needed to complete the entirety of the game.

The upcoming patch, 1.04 for consoles and 1.05 for PC, rectifies the experience issue as well as other issues prevalent in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Among the patch notes is a change to Geralt’s “use priority” when a candle is near a chest and other interactive items. He should now use a chest or other object before trying to light or snuff out a candle repeatedly. Additionally, GUI and HUD elements have been enlarged with an emphasis on the game’s font.

Since the update is not out quite yet, Community Lead Marcin Momot noted that these patch notes are tentative and merely highlight the most requested fixes.

“As you know we don’t stop working to keep bringing you new updates – I just wanted to give you a heads-up of what to expect in the upcoming patch.”

Places where the protagonist could get trapped, NPCs falling through the world in special circumstances, and fixes to the player’s mount Roach are also part of the important update. The upcoming patch and those two free DLCs are expected later in the week on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
