ISLAMABAD: In a bid to make the federal capital more beautiful, Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman Maroof Afzal has directed the environment wing to remove vegetation, shrubs and bushes besides carrying out beautification and uplift work of green belts, median strips, roundabouts and intersections.
He issued these directives, while visiting markets, parks, avenues and green belts in sectors G-6, F-6 and F-7 to see the ongoing sector-wise renovation, up-gradation and beautification campaign-2015.
During the visit, the CDA chairman directed the engineering wing for early execution of repair, maintenance and patch work of roads and footpaths in addition to repairing sewerage and drainage lines.
While inspecting general cleanliness of sectors, Afzal directed the civic management wing to ensure proper collection and disposal of garbage and other waste on a daily basis. He also directed the officials to ensure uninterrupted water supply besides maintaining and repairing water supply lines and filtration plants
Afzal also directed the officials to remove illegal kiosks, and encroachments from roads. He also visited under-construction parking plazas at Jinnah Super Market, where he was told that work on the projects will be completed soon.
