Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) directed beautification, decoration and revamping the surroundings and connecting routes of the venue of Pakistan Day Parade, Parade Avenue.
After a seven-year gap, the government has decided to revive the joint military parade on Pakistan Day, as per a report. This will be the first time since 2008 that such a parade is going ahead.
A military official on Monday confirmed that the joint parade of the armed forces will take place on March 23. The official did not disclose the venue of the upcoming parade, which in the past used to take place on the Parade Avenue in front of the President House and Parliament.
Presiding over a meeting at CDA headquarters, CDA Chairman Maroof Afzal passed these directives, and said that entire city be taken up for further enhancing its beauty.
He also directed to make all the streetlights operational on the Expressway after necessary repair and maintenance. He directed the environment wing to plant colourful flowers and decorate the median strips with different varieties of flowers and fascinating landscapes to be carried out along these roads.
