City District Govt seals 26 business centers in Gujranwala

SIALKOT: City District Government Gujranwala has sealed as many as 26 business centers, including nine private educational institutions, beauty parlours, medical stores, clinics, general stores and private hospitals, as their buildings had been constructed without the prior approval of their maps by the CDG Gujranwala.

According to the EDO Municipal Services Gujranwala Imtiaz Malik, these illegally-constructed buildings were located in Gujranwala city’s posh DC Road locality, saying that the owners of these buildings had been lying defaulters of millions of rupees of taxes and map approval fees since long and they were reluctant to pay their outstanding dues by using their political influence. He said that CDG has yet recovered as many as Rs 10 million from the owners of these  sealed buildings , which would remain sealed till the clearance of their total arrears lying pending for the last several years there.
