Central region duty, taxes collection up 23 pc in March

LAHORE: The Customs central region has collected Rs 13,906 million duty and taxes during the month of March 2016, registering 23 percent growth against the assigned target of Rs 11,306 million.

According to data, the collectoarte of appraisement collected Rs 5,873 million duty and taxes during the period under review showing 22 percent growth while preventive collectoarte collected Rs 2,920, registering 7 percent growth against the proposed target of Rs 2,735 million.

On the other hand, collectorate of customs Multan collected Rs 4,300 million registering 34 percent growth against the target of Rs 3,205 million.

The collectoarte of Faisalabad also showed growth of 44  percent by collecting Rs 812 million against the target of Rs 563 million.

Overall the central region which is being headed by chief collector of customs Sumaira Nazir showed growth of 23 percent by collecting Rs 13906 million against the proposed target for the month Rs 11306 million.
