Central Region posts 4pc growth in revenue collection

LAHORE: Customs Central Region has posted 4 percent growth by collecting Rs 17974 million on account of all duty and taxes during the month of October 2018, official data revealed.

As per details, the region collected Rs 7334 million posting 17 percent growth against the target for the month on account of customs duty while it collected Rs 8636 million on account of sales tax posting a decline of 9 percent against the given target for the month.

Similarly, the Central Region collected Rs1684 million recording a growth of 19 percent against the target of the month while Rs319 million were collected under the head of federal excise duty (FED) posting all-time high growth of 761 percent against the target of the month.

Chief Collector of Customs Zeba Hai Azhar instructed all the collectorates to further enhance their struggle to meet the target for the financial year.
