Central Region surpasses customs duty target, collects Rs 3,889m in Feb

LAHORE: Customs Central Region has surpassed customs duty target set for the month of February and collected Rs 3,889 million, registering 15 per cent growth against the proposed target of Rs 3,297 million.

Sources said that the Chief Collector instructed all the collectors of the four collectorates to work hard to achieve the targets for the financial year 2016-17.

The Customs Lahore Appraisement collected Rs 2,177 million during the month against proposed target Rs 1,890 million during the period under review.

Similarly, Customs Lahore Preventive collected Rs 722 million customs duty during the period under review against the set target of Rs825 million.

The Multan Collectorate collected Rs 777 million during the month of February against the target of Rs 424 million.

In the same way, the Faisalabad Collectorate collected Rs 211 million during the seventh month of financial year against the target Rs 158 million.

Overall the central region collected total customs duty from all the four collectrate worth Rs 3889 million customs duty against the 3297 million during the period.
