Chairman Customs Appellate Tribunal to hear seven on August 18

ISLAMABAD: Customs Appellate Tribunal Chairman Justice (r) Manzoor Hussain will hear seven cases filed against Collectorate of Customs, Islamabad by various companies. A single bench comprising of Chairman Justice (r) Manzoor Hussain will hear the said cases on August 18.

Out of these seven, four cases have been filed by M/s Sana Enterprises, and M/s Makkays, M/s Crystal Traders and M/s Asian Trading & Services had filed once case each.

Collectorate of Customs, Islamabad has been made respondent in all cases. It is pertinent to mention that these cases are old ones which were filed in 2015. Chairman Justice (r) Manzoor Hussain has directed tribunal staffers to enlist old cases first for hearing. The move is oriented to bring immediate relief to appellants contesting their cases at tribunal since long.

Following the directives, the tribunal had enlisted most old cases for hearing starting on August 17 and would sustain for two days till August 18.

Following the similar grounds, the tribunal enlisted cases of Aftab Ahmed, Dr SaeedUllah, M Akram and Brothers, M/s Digicell, M/s Mobo International and Zubair Ahmed to be heard on August 17.

Aftab Ahmed had filed his case at tribunal first time in 2015, Dr SaeedUllah, and M Akram and Brothers had filed their cases before tribunal in 2012, M/s Digicell and M/s Mobo International had filed their cases in 2013 while Zubair Ahmed filed his case in 2014.
