Chairman FBR, Member Customs celebrate World Customs Day in Karachi

KARACHI: The Pakistan Customs-FBR has given the final schedule of the ceremonies which are to be held in connection with the “World Customs Day”, which is observed on 26 January every year across the globe.

The activities will start with Flag hoisting ceremony at Custom House, Karachi at 8.30am followed by the parade of the Customs officials. All senior officers including Chief Collectorates would be present on the occasion.

A seminar in connection with International Customs Day would be held at the Directorate General of Training and Research (DGTR) Building, Old Custom House at 10.00am.

The third and last event of the Day would be a destruction ceremony of huge quantity of drugs ‘Ghaghar Phattak’ near National Highway at 2.30pm.

Chairman Federal Board of Revenue Tariq Bajwa and Member Customs Nisar Muhammad Ali Khan would also be present on the occasion to mark the International Customs Day in Karachi. Chairman FBR Tariq Bajwa would also be chief guest in the seminar held at DGTR.

It is for first time that the Chairman FBR Tariq Bajwa would be present in Karachi to mark International Customs Day with the officers of Pakistan Customs-Karachi Region.
