Chairman NAB takes notice of delay in Karachi Safe City Project

ISLAMABAD: Chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Justice ® Javed Iqbal Thursday took notice of delay in Karachi Safe City project and violation of rules and regulations of Sindh Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (SPPRA).

Taking notice of alleged violation report, he directed complete inquiry into the matter and sought report as soon as possible on the matter.

According to the report, SPPRA rules have been violated in installation of cameras in Karachi Safe City Project.

The chairman NAB said it was an important project therefore no hurdle would be tolerated in installation of security cameras in Karachi under Safe City Project.

He said that the cameras installation process should be transparent and in accordance with law.

It was the responsibility of NAB to eradicate corruption, misuse of authority and nepotism, he added.
