A notification for the appointment of new Customs Intelligence Director General might be issued with the transfer notifications of four chief commissioners.

Sources revealed that Islamabad LTU Chief Commissioner Sajjad Haider, Karachi Corporate Taxpayers Unit chief commissioner and Karachi LTU chief commissioner were among those who would be transferred on poor performance.

The performance of LTUs was not satisfactory during last fiscal year on which they were warned repeatedly to improve the performance, the sources said, adding that the chairman now took decision to change the top officials after their poor performance during first quarter of running fiscal year.

The chairman and IR member sought explanation from these officials but they could not furnish satisfactory reply; therefore, such steps have been taken to improve the performance.
