Changes in Benevolent form worry retiring federal employees

KARACHI: The change of form for payment of Benevolent and Group Insurance Funds is creating immense hardships for federal employees who retired just recently.

Lower-cadre federal employees are the particularly victim of the change
of the form because they lack even the back ground computer knowledge
to upload the form from the government website ‘www.febgif.gov.pk”.
Talking to Customs Today on Thursday, an official of the Customs Department, who had
attested the old form of an ex-driver, said that the ex-employee had
provided all the information sought in the farewell grant form changed
by the FEB & GIF, Headquarter Islamabad. Despite the change of the
format, the new form seeks the information the ex-driver had provided on
the old form but he has asked to fill the form all over again which to a
computer illiterate person like this ex-driver becomes a big challenge, the
official added.
The official had received a letter No. 7.2/FWG/KB/2014 dated October 13,
2014 by the Regional Board Karachi, Federal Employees Benevolent and
Group Insurance Funds, Establishment Division that informed him that FEB
& GIF, HQ Islamabad has changed the farewell grant form. Enclosed with
the letter was revised application farewell grant form and an
instruction that it may be returned to the office of the sender after
duly filled in and signed by the head of department/authorised officer
(not below BS-20).
