Chief Collector approves appointment of two district & session judges under COVID-19 Ordinance

MULTAN: Chief Collector Enforcement (Central) Customs House Lahore Faiz Ahmad given approval for appointment of two district and session judges for Multan and Faisalabad for prevention of smuggling under COVID-19 Ordinance 2020.

The Customs Collectorate of Enforcement & Compliance has requested Chief Collector Office in the letter no. 1(6) L&P/2020 dated 29/05/2020 on the subject COVID-19 (prevention of smuggling) ordinance 2020. Multan Customs discussed on-going issues due to COVID-19 and requested to make arrangements for the resolving it.

Chief Collector Faiz Ahmed has also given approval for Supervision of arrangements at Multan and Faisalabad International Airports in the wake of Covid-19 in the jurisdiction and Collector has appointed two District Session Judges for Multan and Faisalabad under COVID-19 for the prevention of Smuggling Ordinance 2020.District &Session Judge Rana Zahid Iqbal has been appointed for Multan International Airport. District & Session Judge Rana Masood Akhtar has been appointed for the Faisalabad International Airports.

Both Session Judges have been conferred powers of Special Court /Judge under Sub section 8 of the Covid-19 (Prevention of Smuggling) Ordinance 2020.These two International Airports located in the jurisdiction of Model Customs Collectorate of Enforcement & Compliance (E& C) Multan.
