Chief Collector Enforcement South Zahid Khokar to preside over IATF meeting today

KARACHI: A high level meeting of the Chief Collector-Enforcement (South) Muhammad Zahid Khokhar with the departmental heads of other Inter Agency Task Force (IATF) is going to be scheduled on Monday, it is learnt here.

The sources informed Customs Today that the Chief Collector-Enforcement (South) Muhammad Zahid Khokhar on behalf of Pakistan Customs has invited the chiefs of other forces including Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF), Pakistan Rangers (PR), Pakistan Coast Guards (PCG) and Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA) at his office to hold an important meeting.

The sources informed this scribe that the departmental heads of IATF would review the performance and co-ordination among all the authorities of Inter Agency Task Force (IATF) and would also evolved an effective strategy in order to uproot the smuggling activities.

Replying to a query, the sources informed that the meeting is considered to be a vital one, as the heads of all intelligence agencies are determined to uproot the smuggling of contraband items and irani petrol diesel.

It is pertinent to mention here that the intelligence agencies including Pakistan Customs, Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA), Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) through effective strategy and hard-working have seized billions of rupees contraband items including Indian ‘guktha’, liquor bottles and Irani petrol and diesel during the last six months.

The sources further said that the heads of intelligence agencies while following the directives of federal government have expedited the operation against the smuggling cartels and would also continue to burst the smuggling cartel.
