Chief Collector Enforcement Zeba Hai Azhar assures to resolve issues of businessmen

FAISALABAD: The Chief Collector Central Region Zeba Hai Azhar said that business community was playing key role in the development of the local economy and steps would be taken to address the key issues of trade and industry. She said this while addressing a delegation of Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry during meeting at Faisalabad Dry Port Trust FDPT.

Syed Zia Alumdar Hussain President FCCI Main Kashif Zia chairman Pakistan Hosiery Manufacturing and Export Association PHMA Chairman Faisalabad Dry Port Trust FDPT Mushtaq Cheema were in the delegation.

Speaking at the occasion Syed Zia Alumdar Hussain President Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry said that most of the issues of importers and Exporters and local business community were related to the Customs department. But the civic body was not playing due role in resolving issues. He said Collector Customs Appraisement Dr Mirza Mubashir Baig has already performed services in customs department and was fully of the major issues of trade and industry. He said that being Collector Customs he was in a better position to resolve problems and urged that he should take strong measures to address major issues of trade and industry. He said that local business community would fully cooperate with Faisalabad Appraisement for creating of conducive environment for business Activities.

The Collector Faisalabad Appraisement assured a delegation of importers that their issues would be addressed adding that strict action would be taken against those officials who are involved in dereliction of their duties. The additional collectors and deputy collectors assistant Collector were Also present in the meeting.

During the meeting the importers were of the view that the examination and assessment staff at Faisalabad Appraisement were involved in annoying them in terms of clearing the consignments. adding that the Customs officers at examination and assessment were often involved in delaying the consignments deliberately which ultimately increasing the cost of doing business.

The Collector Faisalabad Appraisement after listening the issues of importers community has asked the authorities concerned of the Collectorate to redress the issues of importers and Business community and also present clearance report at Faisalabad dryport on Daily basis.

The Business community has also thanked the Cheif Collector Central Region Zeba Hai azhar and Collector Mirza Mubashir Baig over the practical steps being taken by him in order to streamline the clearance process and others files proceedings.

Cheif Zeba Hai azhar promised with the importers that issues faced by business community of Faisalabad will be resolved as soon as possible with the mutual understanding among Customs department and importers. She added.
