Chief Collector Nasir constitutes team to check veracity of import documents

KARACHI: Model Customs Collectorate Appraisement-South Chief Collector Nasir Masroor Ahmed has constituted a team to check the veracity of documents submitted by the importers/clearing agents as per the Import Policy Order (IPO).

MCC Appraisement-East Collector Manzoor Hussain Memon has been nominated as the head of team by Chief Collector Nasir Masroor Ahmed, it is learnt here.

Sources informed Customs Today that the team will also conduct strict vigilance over import clearance documents to eliminate the under-invoicing and tax evasion in order to increase the revenue generation.

They further informed that the team will submit its findings in this regard before the Chief Collector Appraisement-South on weekly basis.

They further said that the Pakistan Customs has taken the said step in order to facilitate the trade and stop the revenue leakages in the future.

The importers’ community appreciated the steps taken by Pakistan Customs-FBR and stated that the said team constituted by the high-ups will certainly help in curbing the tax evasion, under-invoicing and mis-declaration cases.
