Chief Collector North Asif Mehmood Jah directs to facilitate importers at Pak-Afghan Transit & Trade route

PESHAWAR: Chief Collector Customs North Region Dr Asif Mehmood Jah visited Customs Collectorate with a delegation and directed to facilitate importers at Pak-Afghan Transit & Trade route.

Sources in Customs House informed Customs Today that after assuming the charge of chief collector North, it was Asif Jah’s first visit to Customs House.

Flanked by Collector Customs Preventive Asif Saeed Khan and Collector Customs Appraisement Ihsan Ali Shah he placed flowers wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada.

He also planted sapling in the Customs House premises. Later, he along with high officers of Customs visited Customs Station Torkham. Assistant Collector Sajid Khan briefed the chief collector about operations of Customs at Torkham border.

The Chief Collector lauded the efficiency of work at Torkham customs station and said to further facilitate the importers at Pakistan Afghan trade and transit route.

The chief collector was informed about issues being faced at Dry Port Peshawar on which the chief collector ensured to provide all necessary support.

Customs Collector Preventive Asif Saeed Khan informed the Chief Collector about anti-smuggling drive. The collector showed commitment to get rid of the menace of smuggling who causes loss to the national exchequer.
