Chief Collector Zahid Khokhar to head body to allot accommodations to custom officials in Karachi

KARACHI: Chief Collector, Customs Enforcement South Muhammad Zahid Khokhar has reconstituted a committee of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to allot accommodation to customs officers in Karachi, it is learnt.

According to a notification, the chief collector will be the head of the committee while Collector, Customs Appraisement West, Collector Preventive Karachi, Director, Directorate General of Training and Research (Customs), Karachi, and Director PCA, Directorate General of Post Clearance Audit, Karachi will be the members of the committee.

According to sources, the first meeting of the newly constituted allotment committee will be held on August 30 at Custom House Karachi to review the pending requests and availability of accommodations.

Moreover, the chief collector has also directed Customs Preventive for compilation of all pending requests for allocation of residence by officers and complete list of houses/flats falling under the jurisdiction of Customs in South, showing the names of occupants, date of allocation, whether officer is residing in house or not?
