Chief Collector Zeba Hayae visits Faisalabad airport, dry port to review anti smuggling measures

FAISALABAD: The Chief Collector of Customs Central Region Zeba Hayae Azhar visited Faisalabad Airport and Faisalabad Dry Port Trust to check measurements being taken to curb smuggling of mobiles and gold.

The chief collector visited all areas of airport and inquired the deputed customs staff about their working. She also met with Airport Security Force (ASF) officials as both departments are working jointly to thwart the smuggling attempts.

Zeba Hayae directed customs officials to put special focus on Dubai flights because credible information has been received that mobile phones and gold would be smuggled abroad through airlines.

Collector Muhammad Sadiq also briefed that inspection of engineering and catering services entering through common gate and especially at the time of sensitive flights may be undertaken as previously ordered.

The collector also explained in details huge seizures taken during the current financial year. He also informed about the hiring of premises for conducting activities of the Anti Smuggling Organization.

Chief Collector Zeba Hayae also presided over a meeting at Air Freight Unit (AFU) where Additional Collector Ghulam Mustafa, Deputy Collector Muhammad Rizwan, Assistant Collector Syed Samad Hamadani, Fazal Mehmood was also present on the occasion.
