QUETTA: Chief Collector Dr. Zulfiqar Ali Chaudhry said that Customs Collectorates of Quetta and Gwadar have surpassed assigned revenue collection target for July 2018 to February 2019 with extra amount of Rs2288 million.
Talking with Customs Today during an exclusive interview, the chief collector said that both of the Collectorates working under his supervision showed an increase of 10 percent against assigned revenue collection targets of duty and taxes for the above-mentioned period. He said that during the said period the newly posted Collector Appraisement Quetta Raza Baloch and Collector of Preventive Iftikhar Ahmed as well as Collector Gwader Yaqoob Makoo collectively earned a revenue collection worth Rs 31055 million under all heads against assigned revenue collection target of Rs 28767 million.
Answering to a query, the Chief Collector of Balochistan told that during the period July to February FY18-19 the Collectorate earned Rs17388 million under all heads of duty and taxes against assigned revenue collection target of Rs16305 million whereas the Collectorate collected Rs13667 million against the assigned revenue collection target of Rs12462 million under all heads of duty and taxes.
Chief Collector Dr Zulfiqar Ali Chaudhry highly appreciated the role of newly-posted Collector Appraisement Raza Baloch, Collector Preventive Quetta Iftikhar Ahmed and Collector Gwadar Yaqoob Makoo.
Dr. Zulfiqar said that that all the officials working under jurisdiction deserve appreciation due to showing of this outstanding performance during the first eight months (July to February) FY18-19. He added that smuggling activities have also decreased during the said period while a huge amount in shape of duty and taxes is also collected through auctions.
