Chief collectors, collectors asked to ensure clearance of pensioners’ dues on time

KARACHI: The Federal Board of Revenue FBR has directed all the chief collectors and collectors to appoint focal persons in their Collectorates and establish special cells for pensioners to finalize pension cases without any delay.

According to official sources, the field formations have been directed to implement the orders of the Wafaqi Mohtasib (Ombudsman’s Secretariat) in letter and spirit in order to avoid delay in payment of pensions to the retiring employees. The appointment of focal persons will ensure timely payment to the pensioners, they said.

The focal persons shall with the help of all concerned will ensure computerization of all employees data, specially those who are going to retire in a particular financial year.

Furthermore, the focal person should also work on No Demand Certificates, consolidation of GP Fund account in AGPR at their last place of posting and to initiate timely action for preparation of their pension papers at least six months before their actual date of retirement, sources informed.

According to sources, FBR has directed the Chief Collectors and all the Collectors to communicate the name of focal persons with the Board by March 14, 2016.
