China Customs releases 6m consignments worth $28.78m

YIWU: According to statistics of Yiwu Customs House(affiliated to Hangzhou Customs District), by August 6, YiwuCross-Border E-Commerce Control Center has released more than 6 million consignments, involving 6,003,000 outbound parcels worth USD28.78 million (equivalent to RMB178 million).

Since December 26, 2014, 457 firms engaging in e-commerce has registered with Yiwu Cross-Border E-Commerce Control Center. Their parcels are outbound for 145 countries and regions including the USA, Russia, Brazil, France and Spain, while the commodities therein are dominated by iron-imitated jewelry, cotton dress, and plastic crafts.

To meet fast-growing clearance volume, Yiwu Customs House, based on the innovative mode “Release by List, Declaration in Summary”, has upgraded its service platform system so as to increase the processing capacity from 2,000 consignments/hour to 10,000 consignments/hour, along with group-based operation and flexible schedule to make e-commerce-based exports released within 24 hours in any days. Since May, this Center has achieved average daily clearance of more than 50,000 consignments as a solid foundation for the Yiwu International Mail Exchange which will be set up soon.
